I started off wanting to write about the environmental impacts of cryptocurrency. And then I watched a video about blockchain for climate action, and got into quite the opposite rabbit hole. In attempting to learn a host of concepts for the first time, I had to take a lot more time. It's technically May already -- but here's the very last post in the 30 Days of Kaos series.

I always find myself in some sort of dilemma when it comes to technology and earth. As a believer in degrowth and holistic healing and all things anti-anthropocentricism, a part of me imagines the best version of humanity to be one filled with communal farming, slow living, none of the dazzling gadgets that we have today. Yet, I also know that evolution moves on— transformation isn't about going to the past, but reimagining the future. Technologies such as blockchain, if used well, could lend to a radically transparent and democratic future. Or at least that's what I'm seeing now. There are about a million other blockchain applications for climate change that I came across last night, but I couldn't comprehend them well enough to include in here. I must admit, this world of tech excites me.

Perhaps it was better to end this series on a more hopeful note anyways -- to see a bright future enabled by tech in a time when tech seems to dominate it all. I don't yet know how to reconcile this with anthropocentricism, but I'm yearning to explore the chaos between the light, the dark, and every shade of 'green' that there is out there. That's the whole point of this page, and most definitely, this series.
